Baku, Azerbaijan

location:
Some Supermarket near Vidadi St.
rating:
3 stars
restaurant type:
street kiosk
perozhki variety:
potato
price:
economy
remarks:
Perozhki here slightly damp and flaccid as though it had been left under a carpet all day. Potato filling nearly non-existent, really more like eating a bread roll stomped on by a wet boot. Tried putting a green pepper in it to little avail as far as taste concerned.

location:
Inside Continental Supermarket 68Nizami st.
rating:
3 stars
restaurant type:
street kiosk
perozhki variety:
potato
price:
economy
remarks:
As perozhki was eaten far from restaurant location I was initially dismayed to find, what I thought to be a hotdog concealed within the innocuous lump of fried dough, but discovered, after ripping the sock-like snack in half, to find that the potato filling had merely been reduced to a dense cylinder, probably though pressure and time, the same events that often combine to make diamonds from coal. The potato filling was studded with what might have been dill but the green flecks did not produce enough conclusive flavor for proper substantiation.

Coming Soon:
Turkmenistan!
